Chopped is a blunt appearance insult, aimed at a haircut, an outfit, a photo or a person. “That fit is chopped” means it looks bad; “he got chopped” means the barber did him wrong.

This one sits in the same appearance-obsessed corner as mogging and looksmaxxing. Between friends it is a throwaway roast; aimed at someone genuinely self-conscious, it lands harder.   • 2024–2025: “chopped” for ugly or badly done circulates in TikTok comments and teen speech.
  • July 2025: a viral TikTok (“just found out I’m chopped and also unc”) popularises “chopped unc”.
  • 2025–2026: teen-slang guides list chopped, choppelganger and “chopped unc” among the new insults.

How it spread

The vector was the comment section. A short, harsh word under a photo gets copied under the next photo, and the next. It travels with its spin-offs, which are more fun to say than the base word.

Variations

Choppelganger (also spelled choppleganger): a blend of chopped and doppelgänger — someone who resembles a famous person but as a worse, off-brand version. Chopped unc: chopped combined with unc, for someone both old and unattractive. Chopped as a verb (“the barber chopped him”).
