The short version: read freely, quote with a link, make memes with the meme maker and keep what you make, do not pass our work off as yours, and understand that this is an editorial project, not professional advice.

1. Who we are and what this is

Phylum Digital (“we”, “us”) is an independent creative studio and meme-culture project publishing at phylumdigital.com (“the site”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Our content

The text, the way we group memes, the hosts, the artwork and the design of the site are ours. © Phylum Digital. The memes and slang we document are public internet culture and belong to no one, least of all us; names of platforms, people, products and shows belong to their owners and are used only to describe them.

You may quote short excerpts with credit and a link to the page, share links anywhere, and use the site for personal, educational and editorial purposes. Please do not republish whole pages or the whole site as your own, scrape the site to build a competing product, or use our hosts or artwork commercially without asking. 3. The meme maker and the tools

• The meme maker, the mixer, the creature maker and every tool run entirely in your browser. We do not receive, store or review anything you make.
• What you make is yours. We claim no rights over your memes. Our templates and host stickers may be used in your memes freely, including in things you post.
• Memes you make here are yours to post. You may use the animal pictures we provide in the meme maker to make and share memes, with or without our mark, for personal and social use. Do not resell the pictures on their own or present them as your own photography.
• You are responsible for images you bring in. Do not use images you have no right to use, and do not use the tools to harass, defame or impersonate anyone. Some tools are labelled parody; keep the label on.
• The tools are provided as they are. They may change or be withdrawn at any time.

4. Accuracy, opinion and advice

We research every meme and list our sources, but internet culture moves quickly and origins are often disputed. We do not guarantee that everything on the site is complete or current. Whether a word is still in use, the trend snapshot, the list of dead memes and the quizzes are editorial opinion or entertainment. Nothing on the site is medical, legal, financial, parenting or safety advice; pages that touch on wellbeing say so and point you to a trusted person or professional. If you find an error, tell us and we will correct it.

5. Sensitive material

Some memes have offensive source material. Where that is the case we describe it and do not reproduce it, and we flag it clearly. Reading those descriptions is your choice.

6. Links

We link to sources and platforms we do not control. A link is a citation, not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for what is on the other end.

7. No warranties, limited liability

The site is provided free and “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or of anything you make with it, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

8. Takedowns and complaints

If you believe something on the site infringes your rights, describes you inaccurately, or should not be here, email phylumdigital@gmail.com with the page address and the reason. We read everything and act in good faith.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by talking to us first will be subject to the courts of the Philippines, without prejudice to any protection you are entitled to under the consumer laws of the country where you live.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top will change when we do, and substantive changes will be noted in the site updates. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept it.
